Anyone who wants or expects 1080p to be a standard shouldn't have bought any of the new consoles in the first place. Might as well have built a gaming PC, because it won't become standard this generation.
The new consoles aren't powerful enough unless, like it was said already, the games are scaled back or it really just depends on what type of game it is.
