On one hand, it does make sense.  Sony is heavily involved in the anime industry and they're even a partner in that new, free anime website.  They're the distributer for a ton of the anime produced by other companies and they have their own anime studio.  The funny thing is, they often make the anime for the games of other game developers, like Idolmaster, Valkyria Chronicles, and Persona.  

Of the anime they've worked on, I think they could make a damn good game out of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, or Blue Exorcist.    

On the other hand, these would mostly be niche games that only do moderately well in Japan.  World Wide Studio's focus is usually global.

Or maybe Yoshida-san isn't a fan of anime?
