graphics/IQ isn't an infinite property. As time goes on, it will get harder and harder to differentiate hardware generations. Eventually, we will reach a point where the only difference between PCs or consoles will be resolutions and frame rates. technically we are already seeing signs of these.

There is a reason why graphical comparisons are becoming more about numbers than images. and even when looking at images in most cases you would need to look really closely to tell the difference.

Here's one way to look at it. imagine it takes 2k polygons to make the perfect ball. And for argument sake say it takes 1 shader core to render it perfectly complete with perfect textures and attain photorealism. If you tried rendering the same perfect ball on hardware that could use 20k polygons instead and had over 1M shader cores at its disposal. the ball will still look like a ball. only difference is that u can have more of them.

So no. as the generations come by, we will see smaller and smaller obvious graphical leaps.
