So it's going like I thought it would.
It's kinda hard to understand why people hate 13 and love 10, it has to have to do with age.
Seems like most people that love 10 were teenagers while they played it, but things like linearity and a more emotional approach get a pass on 10 while it's hardly criticized on 13.
I felt 10 was more alive than 13, had a stronger char than 13 (Auron beats any 13 char), and it has more customization than 13 as well, but all those are not that much more standing on 10 to the extent of hate 13 gets.

I wonder if 13 would have a way easier time if it was a PS2 game and most people had played it before turning into adults.

Also am I the only that love 12 OST? Okay that 10 had some strong tracks but 12 OST is great all over it, it sounds epic and powerful when it want and smooth when it needs. Seriously, go listen to some of those, guys xP

Except they aren't that similar. I loved both FFX and FFXII but not FFXIII. Any game like FFXIII would be thrown in the trash.

And to play devils advocate:

FFXII and FFXIII had an auto battle system if you felt the need.

FFXII and FFXIII both had 6 characters. Smaller then my preference.

FFXII and FFXIII both had hunts.

Both had mostly pointless summons.

Both had really bad minigames. Blitzball much more thought out and expansive.

I could go on about more subjective things like story and characters but I think you get the point.

FFXII conveniently gets as much of a pass as FFX if not more due to being less played.
