Since the dawn of the internet there have been highly customizable avatar based chat clients, and few have ever been nearly as enjoyable or successful as the simple text-based chat clients. Now, I think a problem Sony is facing (whether they know it or not) is a lot of people are expecting ‘Second Life taken to the next level’ and Playstation Home is ‘A graphically impressive chat client’ …
Now, if Sony is to be believed, Playstation Home began as a product for the PS2 years before the PS3 was released. If it has been in development for 4 years already, and was too ambitious, what is the likelihood that a couple of month delay will enable them to finish the project?
