*cough* Xbox 360 *cough* | You could also argue that the 360 moves more software, but having been on the market for twice as long kinda screws up the comparison. I preferred to use clear examples of market leaders with the highest install base, and software sales. The PS3 has had a better attach rate on a number of new titles, and it's catching up with total install base, so it gets kinda dodgy.
The reason people are skeptical of the sales of Little Big Planet is how it's so much different to the stuff that normally sells on the PS3 (mostly shooters and racers), and generally has "underappreciated niche title" written all over it. A lot of gamers online are excited about it, but that was also the case with No More Heroes and Zack&Wiki on the Wii. Of course those also had the problems of little to no advertisement, and retailers being conservative with ordering them.
Seeing as how Sony will probably advertise it quite a bit, LBP will be a good test for the whole "the userbase of console X prefers game type Y, so game Z will do badly!" argument.

LBP has a lot more excitment surrounding it than NMH or Z&W had.
Btw, when was Ratchet and Heavenly Sword bundled? I remember Resistance and Motorstorm being bundled. A lot of the games mentioned last year are on this list. Thes that came out didn't get the reviews a lot of people hoped for. Check the million seller list for PS3. It's growing a lot faster than most of last year.
Also, you mention that it takes a high profle title to sell a million on PS3. That list is full of such games.
Finally: starcraft is only trolling and adding nothing.
