This french website doesn't like to put 10/10 for games. That is why SMG/Bioshock/GTA4 only get 9/10, and Halo3/Unchartred only get 7/10.
So what do they think about Killzone2 ???

Of all the games presented to PlayStation Day Sony, Killzone 2 was certainly the most popular. Not surprisingly, after all, for anyone who remembers the excitement caused by the first trailer of the game shown at E3 2005, and the mini controversy that had driven the debate with real-time kinematic Vs. Less than one year of release, since it has just been announced for February 2009, Killzone 2 was therefore left finally time to try a demo carefully selected by the people at Guerrilla. The opportunity to share with you our first impressions joystick in hand on one of blockbusters announced the PlayStation 3. |
The hell with the gameplay. Everyone knows that the only question that tortures the spirit of our readers demanding for months that does a few words: Killzone 2 is as beautiful as it kinematics shown by Sony nearly two years ago that? For the ordeal lasted a little longer, nothing better than a good response from Normandy as "yes and no." No, because the title does not reach the level of the incredible visual magnificent sequence shown in 2005 by the publisher chest bulged to launch the machine dream. And yes, because in spite of everything that we had been fantasizing, graphics rendering of the game is such a level that would be indecent to complain. Clearly, the first thing that is retained by Killzone 2 is its beauty, the quality of its reporting, and its aesthetic coherent which should allow an immersion high fly. Even if the alpha version that we have a tasting of course still room for improvement, it was struck by finishing whole. The war has rarely been so good with details that pètent everywhere, a great depth of field, many soldiers during the battles that collapsed in pools of blood, and a style that really hit home. Cold but not too, with detailed textures and proper management of the effects of uncertainty for a fairly unique stamp so far. As in most all of this is already a remarkable fluidity and animated to perfection, we will not be too worried about the quality of achievement. The PS3 is giving the whole game, "finally" would be to say, to remind us of the best ways how it has under the hood. The area that kills The gameplay, however, we still fancy a little. And on that side, it should be unlikely to expect a lot of audacity. Classic is the word that should surely best Killzone 2: flamboyant in form but excessively cautious on the merits, at least for what we have to see. The level proposed was to eliminate all opponents moving in enemy territory, with a gunfight as the first person on the practice for so many years already. The enemies to kill, a corridor, a room to clean ... Nothing new under the sun. However the inclusion of a protection system practical and well thought out by allowing a simple pressure on L1 to become covered while keeping the viewfinder on targets for splashing out of his hiding place of a coup and shot fast. Proponents of Time Crisis or GOW will have enough fun, with a slightly modified principle here but close in spirit More gagdet, integration of the Sixaxis will for example turning a lever imitating the gesture. The interest is not huge, but it is hoped that other examples come quickly added. Killzone 2 will, therefore, a beautiful and hungry? That is what one might think by looking at them. Fortunately, things change once the joystick in hand, and this is the one that counts. First, although agreed action is fairly intense, which is a good point. It is not asking for all FPS to reinvent the genre after all, and as long as the fighting remain dynamic and stakeholders, a good part of the job is already accomplished. Facing the hordes of Helghast of Killzone 2 promises to be a hobby more enjoyable, whether you are a fan of Jin-Roh or not, including through the behaviour of the latter. They attacked a group, you encircle, swinging grenades to dislodge you if you stay too planqué and try to avoid yours ... Nothing new is true, but the sauce takes quite well, especially thanks to the quality of the arsenal that were glimpse. The action takes place as often in squads and it will deal with your teammates, sometimes even revive, or use their help in mini-QTY base (short-scale release of bears, etc.). Ultimately, Killzone 2 gave us a good impression even if it is already clear that those who expected a revolution will be for their expenses. The game seems square and controlled, superbly set scene a little like a Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which he indeed many believe - and there are bad comparison. Keep in mind also that the designers of the game have not yet shown much later vehicles and multi. We therefore keep an eye concerned in the blockbuster FPS and the general public of the PS3. Too bad that Christmas rate, it said. |
==> I assume this summarize very well the feeling of many : it is good, we like it and, even if there is nothing really new, we want to play it.
Note, my guess about the game :
- co-op in the campaign (2? 4?)
- vehicule
- later in the game, when the weather machine of Helghast willl be broken, we may be able to access to less grey, more green (tree!) area
