@Bofferbrauer: Thanks for the head's up. I went to see what they have today and I found something that I didn't expect. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is 9.09 € with a 50% off sale... but the same game has a 50% off sale on Steam and costs 7.99 €.

I don't know why, but I thought that the games had the same price on all those digital platforms and finding out that this isn't the case has surprised me.

No problem, you're welcome

The prices usually differ a little bit between the different shops. The reasons are generally different shares of the sales which the shops take, although with GOG the bonus goodies (the digitalized feelies) might be another reason, as does their DRM-free approach (some might fear for lost sales, thus increasing the price to break even). There may be other reasons too, as some games are cheaper in one shop but other games instead are more expensive in the same shop. And then there are regional differences of course due to currency exchange rates and cost of living.

For me for instance, Steam had a big drawback for years since it was the most expensive shop and has DRM on top of that. Which is why I bought games at GOG right from their launch on, and before that on Impulse (when it was still Stardock and not GameStop), Gamersgate (when they still had direct downloads and not just Steam Keys) and Desura (before GOG started to sell Indies). Due to this I only got a Steam account in January 2013, and even then only because both Stardock and Paradox Interactive where giving out free games over the holidays and kickstarter betas (aka early access)
