To be honest I think that the OP really mean Western made games versus Eastern made games. Also I would consider Canadian made games to still be classified as "American" games. And I am Canadian myself so..... xD
As far as European games go. That's a little sketchy. The average gamer probably wouldn't know that GTA V came from the UK. Where as pretty much everyone knows that The Witcher is Polish. The Witcher definitely has a more Westernised art style, but the game itself is debatable on that.
A lot of people can't tell the difference these days either. There are a lot of people who actually think Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil are American games. I've talked to people that only think Japanese games are anime like or RPG's. It's ridiculous.
