Hm. I was pondering. This insider talk is a new form and part of inexpensive and save marketing. To keep the lines busy and building up tension, and at the same time no one is obliged to give any crucial information/material, staying very vague and basic. Nothing official, thus no one can point a finger, when plans are being altered (delay of introduction, project being canceled/re-arranged), no (negative) association with the company directly.
Sort of makes me suspicious. The regularity those "insiders" spread rumors, filling the gaps between and, as mentioned, building tension towards a major event (climax). Happened to Bloodborne, Zero Dawn, Sony bends new IP, From Software again, etc. It's pretty much Sony only. Or maybe this is all nonsense and the answer to the why is because there is so much going on at Sonys so insiders actually have something to report.
