It all depends on the genre. For an Fps then 8 -10 hours is long enough because the multiplayer is so extensive. For an action adventure like Metroid prime, resident evil, Assassins creed, god of war I think 15 hours is good enough. For the legend of zelda i think 25 - 40 hours is the sweet spot. For open world games like GTA, Fallout, Skyrim, Far cry and JRPG's like Final fantasy, Dragon quest then 50 - 100 hours or more is fine because most of the time is spent travelling from point A to point B or grinding.
