there is nothing to discuss you want childish or family games i want stuff like Gow, its just how it is.

This needs to be repeated for emphasis: I am not asking for games that are less mature than God of War. I'm asking for games that are more mature, and I believe the Wii is moving us in that direction.

You cant be serious. That surely wont happen on the wii, what the hell makes you think that it will.

Because it already is happening? As I said, over the last fifteen years, games really have made no inroads to capturing the adult market.

And now the Wii is selling to adults. Isn't that... obvious? Brain Age, the Sims, this new Firefighter game, and other mature titles are coming to the system.

Again, Blue, the proof is in the pudding. Adults did not buy the PS1 or the PS2 in any large numbers. Adults ARE buying the Wii. You can gnash your teeth and flail about all you want, but it's as simple as that.

yahh they sold +100 million with no adult sales, your delusional if you think adults did not buy the PS2 it's as simple as that. Sony expended past the child/teen gamer, you can deny it all you want but every one knows its a fact.

Or they simply sold it to a LOT of teenagers. Im not saying they didnt expand the market, they hugely expanded the market as far as non-gaming teens, but they barely expanded into the adult market at all.

Yep, this is my understanding as well. I'd say they did expand the market though -- I'd say it went from 5-16 year old males before the PS1 (generally speaking, again) and expanded to the 16-25 year old male bracket, as well. So the market DID expand during the PS1 generation, and I think it's silly to suggest otherwise.

But that expansion basically excluded adults altogether: it expanded from "really young males" bracket to the "young male" one, which is important and progressive, but hardly revolutionary. So adults weren't playing much, especially well educated ones (this isn't an insult to anyone in particular, but market demographics have pretty consistently shown that those without degrees or higher educations are much more likely to be video gamers. At least until now, not sure with the changing landscape).
