It copied popular modes from other shooters and gave it a cartoony paint. It doesn't even have a campaign.

Sadly there are no such games on the market. ;) Also the ability to hide and move faster in your paint is what makes Splatoon truly shine.

Splatoon clones will be generic yes, just like Super Smash Bros. clones are generic. Or Mario Kart clones.

i could say that the ability to grow plants at your garden is what makes plants vs zombies shine... its a pretty dumb counterpoint seemingly based on the ridiculous assumption that plants vs zombies has no original features
