Your argument is contradictory.

Sony doesn't have faith in the game, but it should be held to a higher standard than Star Fox?

Also, what metric are you using to make that comparison? Are you saying we should expect R&C to sell better, even though you just said Sony doesn't have faith in it, or should we expect it to be a better game?

How is it contradictory? Just because a game is well polished and filled with quality doesn't mean it will sell. Ever heard of Okami, Ico or Shadow of the Colossus? Nintendo and Sony both have vastly different demographics. Obviously R & C will be the better game, Star Fox looks incredibly rushed with a small budget (because the Wii U has a very small userbase, so it isn't worth it to invest in AAA games).

As for this particular R & C game, it will likely sell better than the PS3 games thanks to the PS4 being a more succesful console and the movie tie-in for extra promotion. The PS2 games seem unreachable though.

You're saying Sony doesn't think it's going to sell very well, but we should expect it to sell really well. Why?

The bold is a massive load of garbage. Explain game like SSB, MK. Splatoon, NSMB. Userbase has nothing to do with SF0 looking rushed and small. AAA can and do sell on the Wii U (given that they are Nintendo games).

Oh, and the best selling PS3 R&C game came out when the PS3 had sold under 6 million units. The success of the new game rests mostly on two things, 1. How good the game is. 2. Whether or not Sony can get people interested in the series again.
