not the prettiest?
you realize that there are few if NONE games are there so far this generation that are the size of what this game is projected to be with the amount of details / activities that have this quality of visusals right? its the combination of things
you can't take any random game that has 1/100 of the game space and compare it to something giant in terms of visuals. Bear in mind that there are supposed to be very few loading screens in this game... Meaning that there are a lotttt of things that need to be maintained on the screen visually. you can't get your cake and eat it too
I hear a lot of complaints about this games visuals but it seems to generally come from people who have no grasp on how difficult it is to have a game with a map size like this and DETAIL like this to look current gen top of the line. examples like GTA are terrible because you can't enter the majority of building in that game, you can't interact with the majority of people in that game (beyond the simple mowing them down with a car). in the Fallout series you generally can do something with the vast majority of buildings and NPC's, there aren't just masses of generic AI running around or sitting in the enviroment
its all about detail and scope. if this game wanted to achieve the best graphics of the generation it wouldn't have anywhere near the sheer size and it certainly wouldn't really be a Fallout game in the sense of what the series is about
I personally think the screenshots look great, and even better when considering that this game's priority is open adventure, choices, large world- not visuals
