After quickly booting up the PC versions I can say that there are currently 957 online. Not exactly a lot but I still always manage to find a match at any given time even when the numbers are lower than the current given. Also to note that online MP games, especially new ones tend not to have massive numbers more than a single year, unless of course you're COD or an MMO type game (which effectively covers what Destiny is).
Hopefully when they release Titanfall 2 they fix things up a bit, give us more maps, don't lock maps to season passes and generally keep from splintering the MP and don't charge the game for too higher price, the last one especially since I waited till the game was £10 and it came with all the DLC free after a year of waiting.
