Yes, don't follow your passion, have fun in your spare time, or strive to improve yourself. Listen to dour, negative Shameless; he knows exactly how life works. If you get advice him, you should humbly thank him and damn well do what he says. It's not every day he stoops from his throne to offer advice to mere forum members.
