Sony's own revised statement guarantees that's a lowballed shipments prediction. And thus also a low sell through prediction.
I think I went with 35 million sell through, somewhere back in the history of this thread or was it 32 million? 5.5 million PS4 sales in Q4 is guaranteed on the low side, considering in Q4 last year PS4 did 6.5 million. I think with the games coming out and the price cut PS4 is good for at least 20% more than 2014. So I think for Q4 we're looking at 7.9 million, which makes sell through 34.4 million. If shipment estimate is ~37 million it's possible PS4 might carry 2.6 million into the new year, though that seems like a lot of stock to try to whittle down through the final quarter fo the FY.
