Cancelled Star Wars Darth Maul game: Red Fly Studio working to resurrect the game

- originally planned for PlayStation 3, WiiU and Xbox360 before it got cancelled

- original developers behind the project went to Reddit to talk about the project and express their hopes of this game having a release to the public one day

- Red Fly Studio CEO and owner Dan Borth revealed the studio is working on a:

"full, next-gen demo of all things Maul to show to the powers that be."

"It's been a lot of work on our off-time."

- it is a fact that Electronic Arts is the exclusive developer for Star Wars games, to which Borth responded:

"We have been burning a candle for this game since it was killed in hopes we can get it turned back on again,"

"IF that is to happen we need to approach EA with a demo that will impress them. I think we have that or are close to it. Still it is completely not up to us."

- when asked about how much of a realistic chance it is to pitch a Star Wars game about the prequel story considering the poor reception of the prequel trilogy and current focus on stories about the original trilogy he said:

"That's a fair point,"

"I don't know what are chances are realistically. I would say this helps them if there were any. Hopefully EA will see the value in us reskinning our combat mechanic to be more in line with what they are thinking for Star Wars if they are not interested in Maul."

- Red Fly Studio are pitching a story of Darth Maul when he was 9 to 11 years old, a story leading directly to Episode 1: A Phantom Menace. He said about the story:

"We wanted to show what he went through to become a Sith. Showcase the torture the Emperor put him through,"

"Show how you as the player would have made the same mistakes and ended up a Sith."

I think it looks nice. I have always liked Darth Maul.
