Thanks to you guys, Google is suggesting her videos to me non-stop now
I watched this just for the heck of it and I kinda understand where some of you are coming from. She, indeed, comes off as a feminist nazi in this one. She completely avoids criticizing the actresses that agreed to be photographed and for 5 minutes she has made so many generalizations that made it hard to finish watching the whole thing. She, not once, mentions the sexualization of males or considers it an issue, which makes her comes off as a total hypocrite.
While selective sexualization of females in video games is prevalent imo, the same doesn't apply to other sorts of media, that's why I do get it if some feminists heavily criticized video games developers for unnnecessary choices they make but no so much when it comes to TV shows or movies.
What those feminists don't get though, is that video game stories, in general, tend to be tacky and frankly, if pitched to movies' producers they'd be laughed at and rejected. So their criticism may lead to games with females characters playing more prominent role and less "unnecessary" sexualization, but it will not make the guts of the stories told any better, in other words, they'd still laughed at and rejected in the film industry. That's a missed opportunity, how about being more inclusive of all story aspects now that you got developers' attention?
One thing I'd like to mention is that video I am talking about is 4 years old, maybe she is better at picking her battles now and less of a feminist nazi than she used to be, because I didn't sense similar silliness in her AC review.
