Do you really think the core of the XBL revenue is the 30 to 60 bucks a year you pay for subscription??? Especially when you get it back 10 time at least with freebies and the award program...

About console I doubt they'll pull the plug either... Going PCbox probably... But that's not because they lost this Gen it's because stand alone console will die rather fast within the next decade and even if it somehow survive on nostalgia it'll never be as lucrative than other approaches...
And by then XBL will be a way more financially accurate metrics than low revenue margin making hardware.... Pretty sure XBL makes more profit per subscription even in silver than a console profit margin....
