Hardware numbers in total dont really matter as long as the hardware itself is popular enough to sustain a strong userbase when it comes to the key factor in videogames, which is the software. While Microsoft and 3rd party publishers/developers make money putting games on Xbox, Microsoft will continue to support the Xbox platform. With a bigger focus on digital games in the coming years, a remodelled Xbox One and theyre gonna be making a fuckton of money from Xbox and Xbox Live. While games are still selling 2, 3, 4 Million copies on Xbox One at retail alone without taking into account DD sales, developers will continue to support the platform and it will continue to be a worthwhile venture for Microsoft. |
Thank you. You said it best.
Frankly, giving sales numbers to the public isn't a big of a deal for a company like MS. I am pretty sure it won't hinder them or propel them. Xbox division is large enough to justify its existence as a part of a much bigger company. That's all there is to know. If it ever becomes too small, we'll all know. I find the outrage in this thread amusing though. No one gave two shits outside of videogames sales forums.
