Borderlands 2. I'm at the first big battle in Angel's room. This is my very first time so I have weak weapons and this isn't the best fight in the world for Maya. You have to knock out three conduits while enemy robots spawn all around you. They're shielded but they open up one at a time. It's pretty hard the first time through. The third conduit, your ally Roland has to go up top and manually open the shielding so you can shoot it.

So, yeah, I die once or twice but I pull it off! I take out the last conduit and I'm jumping around, waiting for whatever comes next and ... nothing happens. Nothing is spawning, no cut-scenes are starting, nothing. I look up and there is Roland, break dancing in mid-air where the conduit used to be. Apparently, he's stuck on nothing and the next sequence won't start until he comes down, so, basically, I'm stuck. I run around for awhile before simply turning my PS3 off and going to bed. Luckily, it just reset the fight from the beginning, so at least I wasn't dead in the water.

Dragon Age: Origins. This is my third play-through, so I know what I'm doing. I just finished a long story quest that's needed to progress. I come back to the town to turn it in and ... the NPC is gone. The game thinks he's there and the little "turn in here" arrow is hovering in mid-air but he's not there. I reload but still nothing. I hadn't saved before that in a long time so I end up having to go WAY back and redo a lot of stuff over. Argh.

World of Warcraft. I've just started. I'm like level 15 or something. It's a PVP server and I managed to kill this Rogue who ambushed me and I'm feeling pretty darn good about myself. My friend convinces me to try some PVP Battlegrounds. I'm both nervous and excited. So it starts, I run out and ... I get annihilated. Over and over and over. I mean, as soon as I spawn, I'm dead. I'm trying my best, I'm attacking, and it's futile.

Afterwards, my friend keeps asking me about it but I won't say a word. I'm angry and upset and--I admit it--I'm pouting. I swear that I'm never going to go into a Battleground again, I suck at the game, I'm just going to uninstall and live under my bed. However, my friend is like, "wait a minute ... were most of your opponents in the same guild?" I say yes and tell him the name, then he's like, "oh, that's a twink guild, they have all the best weapons and armor and they're all experienced at PVP, you had zero chance to beating them--sorry, I forgot to tell you about them."
