Rather than assuming my ignorance, did any of you actually look into what I was saying to see if it had any sort of truth? At all?

You ARE ignorant if you think that free to play and subscription-based MMOs is all you can play on the PC.

Everyone on this forum is so caught up in the sales and revenue side of things, that it clouds their judgement.  Regardless of the revenue from F2P and subscription-based, that does not translate to PC gaming being all about F2P.  Yeah, F2P and subscription MMOs can be addictive and require a lot of time. But the same can be said for Grand Theft Auto, or Call of Duty, or any other number of games.  And you can game on a PC for years without ever encountering a free to play game anyway. I know.  I'm living proof.

Unless it causes publishers to stop releasing games in lieu of F2P, those sales figures you posted mean absolutely nothing.

PC gaming requires too much of an investment in time and I regard it as an unhealthy psychological addiction

That's a blanket statement and a generalization.  You're letting the figures lead you to the conclusion that PC gaming is a wasteland of free to play and addictve subscription-based MMOs.  And while you CAN play those games on the PC, you can also play just about every AAA console game on them too.  You can play any number of RPGs (JRPGs, western RPGs, or otherwise), shooters, sandbox, indies, you name it.  Even that Call of Duty you like to pick up and play.  I can take my XBone or PS4 controller and plug it into my PC and start playing any kind of game I want.

I have no stake in this, but it bugs me when people generalize and spread misinformation as if it's fact. Often as an argument for some silly "console war" discussion.
