| Final-Fan said: Yeah, "lolly" comes from "lollipop" (but apparently now just means "candy" over there?) "cough lolly" = cough drop e.g. Vicks, Halls, etc. On topic: Some people really need to get a grip. Suggesting the 360 has not gotten ANY substantial number of PS2 users, or that the ones they did get will mostly also get a PS3, is incredibly foolish. Observe this comparison of the two systems. Do you seriously think that those additional buyers are not former PS2 owners? Then you're saying that the 360 has attracted THAT many "new" gamers? I thought it was a system for hardcore and the Wii was the casual machine? Or maybe the 360 is getting XB+GC owners instead. Yeah, that's likely. Or perhaps you even think that the 360 is selling massively faster than its predecessor but only to the same users and will stop selling at about 27 million (for the RRoDed machines). 4 million people have not all bought second systems even if there have been that many RRoDs. As for the "argument" that 'yeah, PS2 owners are buying 360s, but they'll buy PS3s too!': poppycock. I seriously doubt that, with the amount of games the two systems are getting in common, most PS2-upgrading 360 owners will see the need to get a PS3 for the remaining games, considering how few people normally are multi-console owners, and considering that the more likely choice is to get a Wii. How many people had a XB and GC but not a PS2? I've gone for the trifecta this gen myself, but I am very unusual. Now I realize that most of the people I'm referring to in this thread are saying 'we just don't know', but in fact we do know. We know because it's the only conclusion that makes sense, and it DOES make sense. |
