I understand where you're coming from OP. I'm a loner myself. But you ever heard the saying "it's not what you know but who you know"? Having some good friends helps with your future too. I wish i could go back through HS and went to college so i could build some friends. I only have 1 true friend and we are not even on speaking terms right now. So now i sit at home day by day jobless with no friends or girlfriend. My social skills aren't that good. This is something good to read-
