I can feel your pain in having to socialize when your brain is more comfortable with focusing on facts and figures. I guess you like the predictability of the science. Human interaction is so much more complex and contradictionary than science where there is a RIGHT answer to most questions.
My advice for you would be to stay in the academic world, becoming a professor or scientist. There you may feel at home and can find people that probably are more like yourself. There will still be competition, conspiracies and talk behind your back, but in the academic world you probably have a better chance to thrive trough academic merits.
