Its highly unlikely that steam will shut down anytime soon but have ever heard of backing-up files?
And Steam being run by Valve is a bad thing because...?
I'm not sure what history you've had with Valve but the vast majority of PC gamers love steam and Valve.
crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.
