That being said; 1TB models are definitely necessary. It has become common for a game to have a 10GB patch, which adds up if there are multiple patches across multiple games. That and if you are going to download titles as well - you will need to eventually upgrade to an external hard drive if you are a serious gamer with the 500GB model.
