I wanted to love it, but I only found myself liking it. All the game mechanics, theming, and meta concepts are right up my alley, but I found the humor cringe-worthy a lot of the time and it REALLY hurt my enjoyment. I found it too 'meme-ish' for my liking, and lacking in a timeless quality. It's also a bit too overbearing with that humor, and tried too hard and too often to make me laugh when I was already put off.
I want so badly to love this game, because I really did love everything else about it. I'm definitely in the minority, though, and I'm kind of glad for it. The game definitely deserves praise and should serve as a inspiration, but no game is too perfect for a dissenting opinion and/or constructive criticism, either.
