So after having 360 games on X1 (not a small task) and then xbox games on X1, he "would like" to have 360 games on PC...

Yeah, I think we'll be able to play 360 games on PC sooner through emulators, rather than thanks to MSoft.

That's a long long way away.

Very true, but so is the way until MSoft does it.

The question is who will do it first, and I don't think it will be MSoft.

The thing to keep in mind is where emulation of the first Xbox is at even, I mean I think there is an emulator out there which can run Halo2 from the original Xbox, but outside of that as a proof of concept the sad fact is the interest just isn't there, the reason to emulate older systems is that you can have the whole library of Megadrive/Snes/Nes/Game boy etc in a matter of under 10gb on a PCs harddrive making it much easier than keeping onto the original devices. Consider the Xbox360 emulation scene you're talking about a console which is so readily available, I mean you can pick them up pre-owned for sub 50euros here and get massive amounts of great games for sub €5, in comparison to the work going into emulating the tri-core heart of a 360 and keeping a handful of 5-10gb iso's on a PC's harddrive, it's just not easier than playing it on the original hardware I think.

Sorry that's a bit ranty, wasn't meant to be.

TL:DR Emulating a 360 isn't as convenient as older machines imo.

Don't worry, I don't take it as a rant.

I get your point and I can't deny that it's much more easier to get the console and games than to try to emulate it, but for a lot of people it is not a matter of what's easier or more convenient to do but a way to prove that it is possible to do. Your same argument could be said about Wii and WiiU and both have emulators when grabbing a Wii today is dirt cheap.

Also let's not forget, that some of the people that want such an emulator want it to play without paying anything. Asking them to buy the console or the games is be ridiculous.
