The phrase "next gen" is finally for the most part dead. Nothing ever could possibly annoy more than those meaningless words.

I'm not gonna lie, I oftentimes still deliberately say "next gen" instead of "current gen" just to piss people like you off. It's a more subtle form of mindgame trolling for me. I do this kind of stuff a lot with the way I structure threads and posts to really get under the skin of people in a way that doesn't break any rules. Makes me feel like an evil genious.

One example of this kind of tactic is that often times, especially when I'm debating someone and I can tell they're getting aggrivated, I use a lot of italics to what I'm writing because it makes the whole post look more pretentious than it is hehe. Another example is my avatar making me look like a bully. Another is my signature making me look like smart ass.

But yeah, I don't really see anything wrong with still saying next gen. Especially when there haven't been many real next-gen experiences yet. I don't feel like you're truly into the new generation until games are being made that wasn't possible/being made in the prior generation regularly. This gen so far just feels like last generation but with better graphics. The first next gen game for me is MGSV, because a locked 60fps in a complex open world just wasn't possible last gen. And even there, it's obviously not going to stick, as people actually think it doesn't look good.

Yeah, but that's just the few. The days where it was being passed around like a valid point from every site and forum is gone, and the gaming community is better for it.
