Fight fire with fire I suppose, but in my mind both threads are just as ridiculous and pointless.

But I do not presume to think that the Xbox 360 exists in a vacume.  Indeed, it DOES compete with the PS3 and a large proportion of consumers examine both consoles before deciding on the purchase of one.  Though each company is aiming to procure a profit, they cannot do so without consideration of the other's offerings.
