Sounds like Resident Evil 7 to me. Resident Evil 6 was announced the same year it came out so it could indeed be it. And the rumor mill for the next installment has already started . Also Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City came out the same year as Resident Evil 6 so Umbrella Corps doesn't negate the release of Resident Evil 7 in 2016. That's seems likely to me.
