Because the person in question was not talking about the conference as a whole. He was stating that Sony's own offerings at PGW will be better than what they showed at E3.
Nothing more. And nothing less.
Contrary to the OP, this has nothing to do with the entire conference at all. Just what one publisher (Sony) is going to show from their own studios.
There is nothing silly about that information as it was stated.

I dont know how you assume that Sony's offerings at PGW don't include everything that is at the press conference. Maybe they mean the stuff on the show floor? Then there isnt much megaton about that. This whole thing is sounding like 2nd hand misguided information.
