What I found funny on this website is how a lot of people were spewing that GTAIV was going to move a lot of consoles during it's first week of release? Just exactly which consoled got moved the most? The Wii. It smeared the slimy asses of both Sony and Microsoft last week like they were Nintendo's mucus. I think a lot of you people just don't understand it's not only the price of the console which will sell the most, but the diversity of the library. Just what does X360 and PS3 have to offer for EVERYONE? I don't see games that involve problem solving most of the time, strategy and of course having fun with people of all ages. Just WHY do you think that the Wii is selling as insanely as it is? Nintendo made it to be small, quiet, and affordable. What the hell did you think they meant by that? Plus the system is more inviting (psychology-wise; white objects tend to be inviting, the PS3 is normally black, which repels peoples' tastes)
Sony and Microsoft (as their current consoles stand) have very little titles that offer a lot to everyone--the mass market. Not just price, but the games. A lot of people don't want a damn shooter. Same gameplay, graphics vary and to top it all off, it's just a new paint job. Violent games might sell a lot, but pretty much a lot of people just don't give a fucking damn about it. The people I work with are all into video games that pretty much are engrossing, and the only ones that are belong to Nintendo, their games and their consoles. My workmates are not Nintendo fanboys/fangirls at all, they just like what Nintendo has to offer more than the over zealous violence and immature games Microsoft and Sony offer. I can give you the reason that violence is not always fun, but immature. The best way to solve violence in real life is by being MATURE about it by not trying to start it. Therefore, violent games are immature (GTA).
I think PRETTY MUCH all the people who want all these high profile games ALREADY HAVE a PS3 or X360. You can pretty much GUESS it through last week's console sales for PS3 and X360 respectfully. Really, look at it. All this unwanted hype on this website about the 'AAA' games are going to sell consoles (except for bundled consoles with the games included) are pretty much redundant because people already have that console the high profile game is going to be released on. So quit spewing this hype unless you already know the facts I presented. THE END.
