While of course the Pokemon Company had every right to do this, I'm not sure the negative PR is worth it. No matter what he did, it always looks bad when a multimillion dollar company is throwing it's weight around against a single probably very passionate fan.
I'm not sure about the legalities, but would it have been fine if instead of an actual admission fee he would have had a donation jar with a suggested donation of 2$?
Or would he still have been profiting off of someone elses IP because people likely bought beverages at his cafe?
I feel like it might be more of a legal gary aeria if theres no admission fee, but I might be wrong.
