You still haven't explained how the Xbox One is simultaneously behind Xbox 360 by 5 Million in sales, despite shipping double the 360 in the same period and how it's at 8 million sold, despite passing 10 million 9 months ago.
Anyways, based on official MS shipment data.
Xbox 360 sold 17.7 Million consoles in 25 and a half months
Xbox One outshipped Xbox 360 in 2013/2005 by 2.4 million units - (3.9M to 1.5m)
Xbox One undershipped Xbox 360 in Q1 2014/2006 by 0.5 million units - (1.2M to 1.7m)
Assuming the Xbox 360 was 20-25% of all shipments (as reflected by NPD sales...because the Xbox 360 only sold in the US and UK right?)
Xbox One likely undershipped Xbox 360 in Q2 2014/2006 by 0.9 million units - (0.9 M to 1.8m) (360 200k)
Xbox One likely outshipped Xbox 360 in Q3 2014/2006 by 0.9 million units - (1.9M to 1.0m) (360 500k)
Xbox One likely outshipped Xbox 360 in Q4 2014/2006 by 1.1 million units - (5.5M to 4.4m)(360 1.1M)
In 2015 thus far Xbox One likely outshipped Xbox 360 in 2015/2007 by 1.3 million units - (2.5M to 1.2m)(360 500k)
The Xbox One has gained 5.7M sales over the 360 and lost 1.4M to it, leaving us a 4.3M advantage
As of June 30 2007, Xbox 360 had sold 11.6 million, so Xbox One is around 15.9M shipped same time in 2015.
15.9M in 19 and a half months vs 17.7M in 25 and a half months
Last year in Q3 & Q4 MS shipped 7.4M Xbox Ones, if they did the same this year, LTD Jan 1st 2016 would be 23.3M
If they only shipped 360 2007 numbers (6.1m) , they would sell 22M.
Phil spencer says the Xbox One momentum is up over last year....so there you are. I must say you will certainly go quite far to argue a piddly 2.3M difference (17.7m to 20m) when the XB1 sold that much more in the launch quarter
