It could be anything, maybe an informal chat between friends (I assume Cerny and Kojima are buddies?) or a talk about a future potential project.
TBH Kojima deserves a little break, I'm sure he has ideas he's been writing down and stuff he's been coming up with outside of Metal Gear and any other franchises.
I do think Sony would definitely be the best fit as far as a platform holder or even a Publisher to give Kojima the kind of resources and freedom he needs to make some phenomenal future games, but we'll have to wait and see what happens there.
Personally right now I'm more interested to know what Cerny's been up to.
Maybe he's working on one of the other unannounced, top secret Studio Japan games, like the mysterious Final Fantasy style RPG.
Maybe Cerny is just doing general consulting for a bunch of technical PS4 development stuff, who knows.
I think if Hideo was joining Sony worldwide studios and a studio was being assembled for him (or he was bring talent over with him) then you'd potentially see him meeting a lot with Shuhei Yoshida, along with other people, given that Shu is the boss of worldwide studios overall.
One thing's for sure Sony seems to be expanding their pool of developers, like building up Guerrilla Games with talent from CD Projekt Red, WB Games and Ubisoft studios.
We're also seeing new studios being built like the guys that are working on Hardware: Rivals, North West (the VR studio), Pixel Opus (devs for Entwined).
Hiring people at Polyphony Digital, I think Naughty Dog, Santa Monica and a few others were adding to their ranks recently too.
I wouldn't be shocked to see more Asian studios being built up behind the scenes given the increased output of titles for the eastern markets.
Wouldn't shock me if Hideo did go to Sony, the guy deserves to be given his own Studio, with ND level resources for sure IMO.
We'll see what happens.
