Fans don't matter. The Board do and every year Arsenal make millions and Wenger is the reason for any success they have.
This said, I agree with you on the European thing, if only so that it's harder for Saints to get in Europe. I honestly don't care about it. Sure it's great for success and money but I'd prefer to concentrate on the Premier League and try and win a domestic trophy. 8th every season would do me fine.
