It may be part of the joke, but Crash Bandicoot in unfortunately not a Sony IP, Activision owns it.

Naughty Dog wouldn't be able to work with Crash even if they wanted to in the present situation.

 

Someone needs to go to Activison and be like :

"you guys arnt really useing that Crash Bandicoot IP for anything are you? wanna trade it for this pack of chewing gum & a 10$ dollar bill?"
