Previously "70th session of the UN General Assembly", changed to "Syrian war continues..."
Few titbits (from memory, not exact quotes):
- Obama (USA): "US is incapable of solving world's problems single-handedly" -- the rest was blabber about democracy, human rights, girls going to school and color revolutions, overall speech was long and full of truisms, far above the time limit.
- Xi (PRC): "Lesson of 2008 is that progress of the world couldn't be based upon laissez faire capitalism without consideration of moral grounds, should be supplemented with goverment regulations" -- I'd say it couldn't be based upon money-lenders' limitless rule as it's now, nevertheless the message was strong enough.
- Putin (RF): "(some words regarding Near East crisis) Do you realise what you have done?.. We suggest to create anti-terroristic coaliton under the sponsorship of the UN... just like anti-Hitler coalition it could bring closer very different forces... Muslim countries of the region, as the most affected by the threat, should be the core of said coalition... we suggest to discuss coordination of all forces who fight IS at the nearst session of UNSC... we suggest integration of integrations (provides examples, EAU and Silk Way project, EAU and EU)... global climate changes (in before Paris conference, I guess) bla-blah-blah we cut our emissions bla-blah-blah (now I thought he would go to the greeny rhetorics everyone has mentioned before, though failed to provide how much the industry has declined since those "cuts", lol)... we offer a more broad look at the problem... emission quoats are not a solution (phew)... we suggest to create UN council that will be dealing with the depletion of natural resources" -- overall not bad, but not nearly enough about economy and world crisis, yet the speech compares favourably to the others, which were a lot of words about nothing most of the time, due to few specific suggestions. Besides it the first time the problem of depletion of natural resources have been mentioned at this level. This's good, 'cos most of the time propaganda ignores this topic or stays deeply in denial, while it's one of the core problems that helps to understand world crisis as it is.
- Nazarbaev (Kazakhstan): "To solve world crisis we need to start with getting in order reserve currencies emission and circulation, at the moment they do not meet requirements of lawfulness, democracy, competitiveness, efficiency and international control" -- pretty bold, now the same words but from Putin.
