The CPU is actually a pretty decent CPU even to today's standards. The new chips have a lot more features, but these older ones actually still perform quite well.
As far as gaming goes, you likely aren't going to be able to do a whole lot since it's likely just using intel graphics.
Good buy as far a price though.


Its a C2D, without hyperthreading.

Its a dual core, like the Pentium g3258.

But the "instructions pr clock" performance of a C2D is like half of what a haswell is... or something crazy like that.

Basically a C2D @3ghz is like a haswell at 1.5ghz.

 

A G3258 that you overclocked to 4.5ghz will make a 3ghz C2D look really dated.

Thats 69$ alone for the cpu though.
