Actually, given the quite narrow Field of View it seems MS decided to rename it "mixed reality":

Yep, but I don't think the narrow FoV changes the technology. You still see the reality with added elements thanks to the glasses, like the Google Glass for example. This is the definition of Augmented Reality IMO. 

 

"Mixed reality" is just a marketing term used to look more innovative. In any case, nothing close to VR (VR doesn't involve the "real" reality ^^).
