Do you buy consoles day1 or wait for software that convince you to cave in?

I would gladly buy consoles at launch or in their first year if for me they are worth the price or I know the games will eventually come. Sadly, I'm poor and have to wait a few years before jumping onto a new system. The PS Vita was probably the only console I ever bought in its first year.
