Does that matter? The point is that Japan is clearly not the only place where the 3DS sells...

It sells in other regions, just not a lot for the market size. And definitely not enough for Nintendo to release another dedicated system. They managed to prolonge the 3DS's life by releasing several drastic revisions and re-selling to current owners.

60+ million isn't enough for Nintendo to release a successor? I know ur not a Nintendo fan but let's be a little realistic here.

U mean the same thing they have done every generation? Nintendo has released a handheld almost every year for close to 15 years.

2001-Gameboy Advance

2003-Gameboy Advance SP

2004-Nintendo DS

2005-Gameboy Micro

2006-Nintendo DS Lite

2008-Nintendo DSi

2009-Nintendo DSi XL

2011-Nintendo 3DS

2012-Nintendo 3DS XL

2013-Nintendo 2DS

2014-New Nintendo 3DS/XL

Releasing these revisions wasn't some last minute resort to fend off mobile, they were going to release regardless.
