While the WiiU's library of games will probably be remembered as one of the best that many missed playing, I don't really expect the console/concept itself to be remembered particularly fondly.

I'd go with Gamecube; a beast of a system with a stellar library and a very affordable price. It's disheartening to me that the 'Cube didn't sell much better than it did.

I think Wii U fans are overestimating the Wii U catalogue. It only has only a few games that are really, really worth remembering. I'd say MK8, Splatoon, Bayo2, SMM, maybe Xenoblade X (can't say yet if it lives up to the hype and level of its predecessor) are the pearls and a handful of other games are good - Smash, Wind Waker, DK, Captain Toad. 2D and 3D Marios are also ok, but aren't really all that special, there's no SMG there. Other games are rather average or decent at best. This makes +/- 10 games really worth buying. Not that much for a console that's about to be killed. Obviously, this looks different if you add the Wii BC... Wii was awesome :)

This thread just made me realize, that Vita and Wii U, the brothers in doom, actually have the best overall lineups in history of gaming. I mean, if you buy just these two consoles, you gain accest to almost whole legacy of console gaming. You are really only missing out on a couple of franchises. Shocking.

Also, I think Dreamcast is the most overrated console ever. Never saw a single reason to get one, still can't. I have no idea why so many people rave about it.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
