Bit of an arrogant bastard isn't he? People starving to death in parts of the planet, being persecuted in others and living under the control of tyrants in others still. Yet VR is going to change the planet?

Yes it ll change the planet ('s way of experianceing movies & games).

Not sure how that makes him a arrogant bastard.

You make it sound like hes not supposed to be working, doing what he loves, makeing entertainment (tv/movies/games), until after hes personally saved the intire planet from everything bad.

Seriously? cut a guy a little slack?

You wanna know why it's arrogant? Because he's making a grandiose statement about something which really isn't that big. Actual inventions that changed the planet: Guns, Cars, Nuclear Power, the Internet etc. Do you really think VR headsets are going to be anywhere near as important as any of those things?

The smart phone wasnt important, for the world overall... yet try asking most people to live without theirs.

VR is going to end up the same way.

Its not arrogant, to assume a wave of change could sweep the planet, and VR gets really big, and changes the way most of the world experiances movies & games. At most Id call him optimistic.

Think of it like this... was colour TV important to the world? Do you enjoy watching tv?
