I finally finished my new level, it´s call New Super Metroid Bros U. As the name suggests the levels is based/inspired on metroid. Here are some tips to beat the level because is a little hard, not because of some precise jumping or stuff like that but because is really long and you may run out of time (unlikely). If you don´t want to read my tips then go ahead and beat the level. I want to know if I nail the metroid experience so please tell me what you think.
ID: BE2E-0000-0059-B6EB. Below are the tips read them if you are having trouble with the level.
A couple of quick tips: remember that in metroid if you can´t go through some path that mfeeleans you need some type of power up to pass there. The are two mini boss battles and then the final boss, which is pretty long and you will probably barely end the level because of the time limit, but that´s the thing, in metroid after you beat the boss the self-destruction mechanism triggers and you have little time to escape the planet, so if you have few time left after beaten the level you know why, and don´t worry the end is not far away from the final battle. You can beat the final boss with either fireball power or yoshi (remember yoshi can eat fire), but if you lose the fireball power during the battle you will need to use yoshi so try not to lose yoshi on your way to the final battle.

I finally got around to trying it out. Nice setup, but also pretty frustrating to have to start over from scratch. I'm fine with hard levels and also lengthy levels, yet not both at the same time. I completed it in the editor and found a nice shotcut using the koopa troopa shell repeatedly to clear the towers on the upper right. No need for the p-switch or fire flower. Yoshi is fine throwing back fire and hammers. Yet I couldn't manage to finish it in 1 go. That 10 jump sequence without hitting the ceiling to get Yoshi is my nemesis and clearing the towers from scratch everytime gets frustrating.
I see you put an easy version up, or much harder version lol. You closed all the short cuts and left the 10 sequence deadly ceiling jump in :/ Too many places to die for me, for example the trampline jump to grab vines over lava or try to land Yoshi on that tiny skull platform at full speed. Anyway great level to explore in the editor.

I agree that the normal version is hard, but did you really find the easy version harder? The main complain people have with my original is the fact that power ups are limited, pretty much only one, so in the easy version I put a ton of power ups in case people loss them so the vine jump shouldn't be a problem since you can get a ton of Propeller Mushrooms, I can see why jump sequence is difficult but otherwise the easy version is, well, easier. Thanks for the feedback

I didn't try the easy version yet, I only saw it after I gave up on the hard version posted on page 38, I have some catching up to do :) My gamepad was already flashing so when I saw the route I was working on was blocked off I decided to go to bed first lol. Indeed with extra power ups that jump sequence won't be an instant fail. I'll give the easy version a go tonight, although my mind is already busy designing a new level. This game makes me a dangerous distracted driver on the road :/
