For anyome trying it, long press ps button, check the "emulate touch inputs" box, you can then use L3/R3 to do touchscreen/rear touchpad inputs using cursors.
Not ideal but better than nothing.
Also, works on the current latest vita tv firmware (as of right now) though likely not for long.
After the mod, if you close then re-open ps store it will let you download vita-only games from your purchase history and not prevent you due to compatability.
Last but not least, if you download youtube app on a normal vita under the same account, you can install it to the vita tv, and it will work, despite not being officially downloadable for the vitatv.
